Two new releases in one day!

It's not every day I release two albums on the same day. If it was, I'd probably have way too many albums. Today I finally released the new The Astronaut King album for digital download on Bandcamp (CD release will come a little later, and is definitely planned). I've been looking forward to this release because of the amazing artwork by Mike Miller, who did the art (and The Baptism side) of the Satan's Basement/The Baptism split released earlier this year. Here's a look at the artwork:

Now go download it on Bandcamp!

Also, there's a new Satan's Basement "Christmas" single on Bandcamp that you should download:

This was originally supposed to a full album of Christmas carols rewritten as Satan's Basement songs, but that was 6 or 7 years ago when I had the idea. I never finished writing the songs, so I just mashed two of the best ones together to make this. I guess since I had the idea, a lot of other people had beaten me to it. If you're brave, you'll go looking for the crappy 2007 version of this called "Cynical Christmas Carols" that had programmed drums/guitars and worse vocals that I didn't even release as Satan's Basement because of that. Anyway, hopefully more people like the new/better version more. Go listen to it.

That's all for now, hopefully more good news and new releases to come in 2013!

Satan's Basement/The Baptism split out now!

After over a year and a half in the making, the Satan's Basement/The Baptism split is finally out! Its initial release is a limited split release with Excess and Moral Decay Recordings on cassette.

Check out a "preview" (meaning the full length album on youtube):

From the far west cornfield-laden suburbs of Chicago, comes two solo projects with a split release guaranteed to cause the apocalypse. Satan's Basement is Ian Coveli on all instruments, The Baptism is Mike Miller on all instruments.

Mike also delivers some amazing artwork to go along with the split, with a big fold-out cover on the tapes. What genre is it? Metal. Or something. It ranges through doom, death, thrash, sludge, and hardcore with bits of noise and noise rock in between. Want a better description? Listen to it, then give it your own!

Get it now while it lasts from Hildsvfar Records or Excess and Moral Decay Recordings!

Check out the facebook page for the split and stay updated for details on a release show and any other info!

Updates 8/28/12

Just recently re-released (in a way) the first DJ Fartbot album from 2008 on Bandcamp! Check it out, download it, share with your friends! Then check out the more recent Digitized Scrawlings of the Forgotten! The first album is a collection of the earliest works of DJ Fartbot from 2006 up until the release of the album in 2008, and should not be overlooked. What's it like?
Well:
"Like playing dark games on your old 486 computer.
Like dreaming/having a nightmare inside obsolete technology.
Like conquering and rebuilding a post-apocalyptic society from the ground up without Game Genie."

Also, the Satan's Basement/The Baptism split is very near! You can almost taste the apocalypse! Amazing artwork by Mike Miller (check out his artwork for Bongripper's Satan Worshiping Doom and vinyl release of Great Barrier Reefer to get an idea of how awesome it's going to be) and ~15 minutes per side for around a half hour of Earth decimating death metal, hardcore, and whatever other genre this album seems to fit into!

More updates to come as this year makes its way into the fall season, expect a new The Astronaut King album by the start of 2013 and keep updated on the Suffering Luna collaboration by following Hildsvfar Records, Suffering Luna, and The Astronaut King on facebook!

The Baptism/Satan's Basement split coming soon!

I know, it's been a very long time since I've posted any updates, but this is a huge one! More will be posted later when the album is released, but it's going to be a joint release between Hildsvfar Records and Excess and Moral Decay Recordings. Here's a preview of the Satan's Basement half:

This will be the first major release in a while, and it is going to be a good one! Just wait until you see the artwork that Mike Miller made for it. It's been about a year and a half in the making, and it's been worth the wait!

There's also a new The Astronaut King album in the works, but I'm not sure how soon it will come out. More details will be posted as they come. All the material is recorded and ready, but it's not ready for a proper release just yet.

There's also a collaboration of Suffering Luna/The Astronaut King that's going to be on a split with Suffer The Storm in the near future! It's not going to be through Hildsvfar Records, but it's still pretty awesome! Stay updated on that, as it's turning out to be a face melter.
